Julie Burtis, DPT has a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Pacific University and is licensed by the Oregon Board of Physical Therapy. Prior to pursuing a career in physical therapy, Julie studied and taught Iyengar Yoga for over 10 years. As a PT, Julie has trained extensively in combining pilates exercise and breath work for rehabilitation.
My approach to physical therapy focuses on building strength and mobility that are grounded in core stability. Core stability, in turn, is intimately linked to robust, relaxed breathing, which forms the foundation of healthy, pain-free movement. While healthy breathing and gradual strengthening are my primary focus, I also use targeted stretching and hands-on myofacial release to support the natural, full range of movement needed for exercise to be comfortable and therapeutic.
The physical therapy process starts with scheduling an initial evaluation appointment and completing a secure, online intake questionnaire.
Fees: I do not currently accept insurance, and my fees are as follows:
All appointments are in-person at my studio in NE Portland
